looks like a WW1 US mess kit. This is the lid. It is missing the d ring on the small bracket. I could not make out the markings. The story of where this was found is probably worth as much as the nominal value of the lid. Cheers
This is what the marking are any info.

Thank you on the help on this relic.
Any other info would be welcome.
Looking at the spacing on the stamped letters/numerals as well as other sources provided, the CO B 315 SUP TR stands for Company B, 315th Supply Train. However, this unit was part of the 90th Division (Tough 'Ombres), not the 68th. In fact there wasn't a U.S. 68th Division in WW1 (as it jumped from the 42nd Division to the 76th Division) so what the 68 stood for is a bit of a mystery.
Originally, the 90th was comprised of Texans and Oklahomans, but by the time they got to France they had soldiers in the unit from across the country, especially in the attached units like the various trains.
By no means did Hendrick necessarily participate in all of these actions, but the 315th Supply Train of the 90th qualified for the St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, Defensive Sector clasps. The 90th was also one of the Army of Occupation units. Furthermore, he was not listed in the unit's rolls of Distinguished Service Medal recipients.
The 68 may be his company number (68th man on the company rolls). Before the great expansion of the Army for the war this type of numbering served as what became the service number.
