MKI brodie and tommy helmet markings
Hello everyone!
As you may know, I accidentaly posted a thread on the wrong formum (Identifying a British or American helmet in the WW2 forum) where I asked for help identifying an unusual "WW1 Mark I helmet". My bad! Now I am in the right foum, I have another question: Is it completely nessesary for a WW1 Mark I Brodie (or Tommy) helmet to have an identification number (or heat stamp)? I have been told by friends that sometimes during WW1 helmet production, especially in 1915, the serial number wasn´t a "must have" for helmets, so there are some variants of Mark I without any serial marking. Is this real or fake? Thanks.

Whatever
its just an opinion.
