Hello everyone, at an antique store today I found this cap marked "ww1 Mediterranean" for $50. It has nice bullion insignia so I couldn't pass it up. I was wondering if anyone knows the country it's from, I believe its British but I'm not certain.
As always thanks for looking and let me know what you think

Possibly French, does it show any signs of the white chinstrap or red 'bobble' being fitted?

It's pretty generic, could be a yachtsman's cap from anywhere, or even a commercial crewman on a tug or any small craft. There really isn't anything about it that suggest a national navy. Neat looking cap whatever it is. Dwight
