    It is all about a picture that has been colored and reworked with paint and pencil. A more or less common practice in those days, if you could afford it!
    Not the best pictures, because of the reflection of the glass that protects it....

    Without the frame it measures 50 by 62 cm, quiet big!

    It must have cost a arm and a leg back then, just sad they didn't care about it over the past years....

    Still doing some research about it. The artist might have forgotten some details...

    To me it seems like a officer to the 14 th infantry regiment....
    The guy is wearing his mod 1915 uniform, but the picture might have been taken between the two war's,but not later then 1935, witch was the upcome of the new uniform (mod 1935 with flat collar).

    Frame repair would be expensive undertaking, if you colour match paint and just touch up the gesso it would display nicely and save you a hundreds of dollars.

    It is something I was trained to do, in my career of antiques dealer.
    Only need to find the time to do it (properly!) ....
