U.S. Canteen question

Hello Gentlemen,

I have a question please. If an L.C.C & Co. canteen cover is marked with a date of "8-18," is it possible being produced that late in WW1, it could've made it to Europe before the war ended? Assuming it was produced in the U.S. of course, I'm not sure where L.C.C. & Co. was located.

I cant help with the question as to if it made it to the ETO for WW1,

Not sure about WW1 but in the second war brand new items were either shipped over seas or issued to troops bound for the theater. I also know that the same thing was done for the China Relief Force in 1900. I have a couple of pieces dated October 1918 that I know made it over seas, as to making it into combat????. The US was so short of equipment that some troops went over seas with per 1910 pattern equipment.
