WW1? French sword inscription
Article about: I was at my favorite honey whole and they had 80 some odd bayonets - swords come through the shop and I noticed this inscription and I'm assuming it's a French sword. Took a couple photos an

You don't need to be a French scholar to work out this one. You have a French M1882 Infantry Officer's sword, made in June 1915, so World War I. It was made at the French State Armoury de Chatellerault. A nice find.

Oh I thought it was a inscription to a officer or such. I suppose they are all stamped like that. I do appreciate your reply
