    He was discharged from the service after suffering myalgia, severe muscular damage due to excessive exertion due to stretcher bearer duty. His war service also noted he had been buried alive at one stage also.

    Thanks Adrian, I agree. There is a lot of information that can be gleaned on the story of the former owners. Duty and sacrifice encapsulated into a small item. There is so much more to them than meets the eye.
