    Actually it has been there for weeks on end - obviously nobody wants it (and I doubt this is because people know it is a sham). He has been trying to sell this Austrian summer police cap from the 1950ies (one can still see the imprint of the police Korpsabzeichen on the left side of the centerband) as a 1. Republic Gendarmerie cap even longer:

    Some other of the things he offers seem to be O.K., but the prices don't.

    I sent a message via Ebay to the seller, stating the cap is not as described & that he should remove the listing.
    He actually replied, simply thanking me for my "opinion."
