Assistance with Heer Cavalry 5th KAV EM/NCO visor

Article about: Gentlemen, I am looking at this visor to compliment my Cavalry Officers visor. I have found very little examples on the Kavallerie -5 visors. My readings on the regiment indicated on the 25.

I have a cavalry officer's visor cap in my collection, sold through
a dealer in Bamberg, garrison of Reiter Regt. 17, where Klaus v. Stauffenberg served.
    The actual maker was BAMUFA.

    Did somebody say BAMUFA?
This one was sold by Friedrich Reindl in Munich. Please pardon the poor resolution photo taken years ago.

Here is a Kav 5 officer visor being offered by the Collectors Guild. Note the small traditions badge again.

I like that visor from collectors guild Al. I just don't like the price. Definitely seems like things are still climbing. Very nice visor though.

Hat is real, but nothing to confirm that it was worn by a member of KR5.
Plus, they had to use a Panzer tab TK in order to make it look like a fit.
    IMO, postwar done.

Well if it was done postwar they made an effort use the appropriate traditions skull and not just a standard panzer skull. Essentially any Kav 5 visor can be deemed post war pimped out unless it has direct provenance?

Al, here is my take on traditions badged visors:

Ref image on post #19: Also of interest, is the fact that the TK has been crammed in between wreath and a low-mounted Adler!

Yes, I posted that one. there are a few photos of small TKs in wear, as it did happen.
My point is that if the hat is not Gepruft marked/distributor marked, there is no way to confirm that it was done wartime.

There are way too many KR5/IR17/KR6 visors floating these days --simply the product of unscrupulous dealers/sellers trying to squeeze another 4-figures out of unsuspecting collectors.
