Ofcourse not all visors survived or were taken back home. Instead the insignia was a trophy of war..
I’m more into the skull insignia from the world wars, but many others collect insignia from different branches..

There is almost nothing that is not being collected - be it barf bags, coffe creamer portion pot lids, garden dwarfs etc. etc. - and so are the badges without the caps.
So much so that we even have a whole subforum section dedicated to just SS cap insignia
