The Genesis of the "Same Plane"?

Article about: by ErWeSa Plus the workmanship - I tried out cuts of caps with the "perfect" shape, yet when I sewed them, they looked disappointingly different. But one should never give up to do

    Thank you!
You're right! This cap deserves it.
It's the crown in my collection, something very special.

Wolfgang, I would not call that an attempt, I would call it success!

    A successful cap maker.
    Properly!
    That's not a try but a success!

Like an exact copy of the cap!

A faint similarity I'd say. Nevertheless thanks Leo - just have a look at yours! I wonder what the old Meister would say to our caps. On the other hand, when one sees what was worn then ... Perhaps we would have had a chance some 80 years ago.

We would certainly have a chance 80 years ago.

You could have got the right machines and materials and then my friend, there would be no doubt about it. They would be originals today!

It is very sad that this profession is dying out and can no longer be learned.

Respect for these works, which do not come from a line production, but from a person with 99 percent manual work.

Welhausen even went with the same-plane style on their wartime Forestry visors:

"Interesting" piping of the top-panel: thinner than the one of the centerband and quite uneven.
