Can't forget the Heer I suppose. Both caps are by Robert Lubstein (Erel).

Love the Blue and Red....
This light-worn example is one made by Gustav Binner in 1938 and issued to a member of II / Flak Regiment 14, which became Leichte Flak Abteilung 84 shortly afterwards in November 1938. You can see the change in the Unit markings inside the cap.
The Unit had an interesting history, being attached to the 8th Panzer Division in 1940 (France), and then the 7th Panzer Division in 1941 (Russia), occupation duties in southern France (Toulon), Normandy 1944 (suffering heavy losses), and last but not least it was attached to SS Kampfgruppe Peiper in the Ardennes Offensive of December 1944!

Had the owner survived all of that it would have been quite a war, but the cap sat most of it out back at the barracks or his home address!
This one is not red piped but it is definitely a Flak cap (!), marked as such to the 1st (8.8cm Flak) Battery of I / Regiment General Goring and made in 1938 by G.A Hoffmann.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them
