Hey guys just posting my latest headgear addition.
It has 2 names inside. The one you can see on the label and one written in pen in the inner side of the sweatband.
The unit is also marked in pen 3. / J.R. 56

Since the J stands for Infantry then what is the abbreviation for Jagers?

Nice enlisted mans private purchase cap, upgraded to Officer rank.
The J can stand for Jager, but the piping would then of course be green.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if it's 55 or 56 regiment. But it looks more like 56. This is amazing as i already have a waffenrock of the same unit. My friend and seller of the cap had totally forgotten that the cap was marked with the name and unit inside the sweatband so it was a pleasant surprise for me. Especially considering that i can match it with my regiment 56 rock.
Thanks for the link Ade. ''J'' was used as an ''I'' (infantry). If it had a green waffenfarbe thus was a Jäger cap, then what would the abbreviation be like? A ''J'' again?
