Whilst I totally, of course, respect your viewpoint in this regard FB, I do think you're barking up the wrong tree in terms of what you consider inferior quality textiles and the timeline of it's decline, if there truly was one in fact.
Thanks for the comment. My generalization is based on two aspects: a.) the periodicals of the epoch in which much is said about the Four Year Plan and its effects on the textile trade and b.) the caps I do own, and these are a small sample, but those of the 1933-1936 epoch are nicer in their textiles than the later ones, i.e. 1938-9. It is an aspect that does not really emerge in the pictures, but in the tactile dimension and the sniffing of the things.
