This is an original Schirmmuetze. Nice early date too. The replaced cockade is quite unusual and I agree with Glenn - not unknown to mix insignia. Sometimes you also encounter cloth Adler sewn to the peak instead of metal insignia. I like it. Neil
I am with Neil. Nice shape displaying one of the higher crowns. Some loose stitches in the lining which could be easily fixed.
It has taken me more than an hour to find out who the maker was, but finally I succeeded. The maker located in München, Goethestr. 34, was Bayerische Mützenfabrik Wilhelm Schreiber.

I traded for it and adding it to my collecting.
I know this is an old thread but did any one notice the different colored visor undersides in the photos .. Is that of the same cap ?
