Hi guys !
Looking into this SA cap badge I'm thinking of buying. I really like it, but it's
a design that I have not seen before. The seller has been good to me
in the past, but thought I'd run it by for an assessment.........

Looks fine to me, looks later on in the earlier period if you get my drift; perhaps SA reserve.
Isn't the eagle's head looking the wrong way?
Perhaps a different type of Reichbahn, Bahnschutz, Reichpost, or Forestry.........?
Regards,
Steve.
I would lean to civil service as well.
All the best,
Stefan
This is definitely the eagle used by civil organizations. There should not be any RZM mark on this eagle as that would be reserved for political organizations only. It appears to be genuine. This is possibly a transitional piece when the 1936 pattern eagle came in to existance. It could also be a well manufactured fake with a fatal flaw being the RZM mark. I do not know if it is possible to fake verdigris as seen on the one pin.

LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
Thanks Bob, and everyone for your replies.
It has the look of the larger railway car or locomotive eagles.
This is advertised as SA - hopefully, a Political transitional
variant as suggested - and worth the risk of $50.........!
Regards,
Steve.
