Default SS Cap Adler ... Right or Wrong ?

    Hi all,

With a lot of mixed opinions with regards the SS Adler on SS Caps .. What is the general feeling with regards to this one?
It’s listed as 100% Genuine .. and states it’s a RZM M1/8 Cupal. The pins are all original and large amounts of solder is used but this is normal for Cupal.

    Comments appreciated.

IMO, both prongs have been re-soldered.

IMO Ralph, I think you maybe right, if the pins and Adler is correct I don’t think it’s an issue!

Here is my example to compare.
From the reverse, the right prong is a replacement.
As you can see, large blobs of solder are not necessary on cupal items.

Thanks Ralph ... Excellent Comparison to look at.
Not sure why the Dealer selling the Adler would state that Cupal used large amounts of solder, by looking at yours clearly this isn’t the case.
Would you class the prongs as originals, they don’t look as solid as yours?

I have an M1/8 eagle missing prongs and it has remnants of excess solder as well. I'm thinking these were prone to come off easily since they have no attachment posts or boxes like some other models. You do find a lot of these with solder repair.

    Difficult to tell, possibly.

    Hi stevade,
I haven't posted for a while as I am still mourning my father's passing away.
I am absolutely no specialist for insignia, but here is one to compare to:
SS Visor Cap Eagle M1/8 Fake or Real?
As I've done some amateurish soldering myself I can say that IMHO the soldering was done quite recently and not very expertly (the excess of solder you mentioned). Moreover there is a lot of soft solder flux on the material which causes some corrosion to the metal and which should be removed.
