Hopefully the sweatshield isn't plastic - I'm sure it is cellophane/celluloid.
Very nice caps on very impressive stands.
Thanks for the explanation. I see we used it in a different way.
I was hoping you’d can provide a similar one.
I traced 11 Kleiderkasse types of fieldgrey EM visors. I am looking forward to see another one in your configuration.
Anyway. Nice visor .

Thank you Christian for your insights. Yes I agree my cap differs from many specifically the interior that resembles more of an officer's private purchase cap like this one in Wilken's book. Mine also has the lighter almost cream colored sweatband rather than the usual brown with this orange liner.
Here is a great thread on the perils of attempting to categorize or authenticate these caps solely on digital images. There is so much variety it makes my head hurt. It makes for a great read, F-B's comments in particular. I have to rely on what I've learned and hope when it arrives it feels right.

Beautiful cap! Which dealer had it?
Thanks Arran. Kelly Hicks listed it , where I also bought my SS-VT cap awhile back. These caps are fraught with danger but you have to be decisive and quick because they are snapped up rapidly. There is little time for vetting. I'm relying on the little I've learned, plus reference books, and of course the tons of images on this forum. There is however no substitute for close up visual and tactile inspection. Now that I have a cap or two I get a better feel for what I'm looking for. It also helps to buy from the most reputable dealers to reduce your risk. I'm very happy with my cap. Thanks, Al

Congrats. Really a wonderful piece. The absolute top tier of collecting.
You are right. The cream one is not often in use.
I know all the threads from FB. He do a great job. The thread you showed is a good start.
For the fieldgrey Officer visors i traced 16 main categories.
