I still think it is a good chance it is my monitor as I am not seeing any change in the piping color on all sides of the visor, nor does the rest of the visor seem to be washed out. Certainly a photo of the fabric pulled away from the piping will show what it truly is.
FWIIW....here are two photos of my Panzer and Arty hopefully showing a nice side by side difference. Of course with the caveat that waffenfarbe colors were not always consistent across manufacturers.

Oh, very nice! Thanks so much for posting the side-by-side. This is an immense help. Agree that there is still a good chance, but I'll still inquire about some more pics from the seller. This does inspire more confidence, though.
Great looking caps you've got there, and thanks again!

Nice original cap. I'd lean toward faded red piping as well, but an in-hand inspection trumps guessing based on photos. When the Waffenfarbe on a visor cap appears uncertain, I look underneath the side overhang to view the piping that has been protected from sunlight and other exposure.

It is definitely an honest Pekuro; though I think I may be in the minority who believes the Waffenfarbe is actually for the Panzertruppen. A part of its pink dye has faded to a shade of orange after constant wear...
