Civil War Artillery Shell Jacket

Hello everyone!

Been meaning to share this for some time. Over the summer I picked up this civil war era artillery shell jacket. Due to some modern restoration, specifically the replaced pillows on the back and some replaced red thread on the collar, I was able to get this piece for the right price. Given the age and history surrounding these jackets, I think it is in fine condition and I am more than happy with owning an artifact from the civil war!

One other aspect of this uniform that I am proud to share is the display case. I had originally bought the case from Michael's, but the case was not deep enough and the glass pressed on the uniform, so I custom built a bottom half of the frame that would elevate it enough to a point where the jacket could lay without the glass pressing on it. Making the frame was a major pain, but it is all worth it in the end.
