This post deserves a few replies Kirk! I’ve just been looking again and really love the Luftwaffe flying gear. I don’t think I’ve seen a mannequin so complete as this before. Hopefully it must have helped a bit with the extreme cold at the altitude that that WW2 pilots were attaining.

Kurt, what an outstanding album! Thank you so much for sharing. It looks like he was quite an artist. Interesting to note how worn the soles of his boots were in one of the photos - perhaps from using the foot controls in his fighter.

I have often wanted to dig deeper on him. One of my SS Totenkopf albums I researched August Gerstacker who became a doctor in Munich after the war.
