My guess is that as the SS-VT trained alongside the LAH and the owner being replacement LAH, that he might have found himself attached to the Nord following his training, perhaps as part of Artillery Regiment 6. I'm guessing that part based on the fact that Nord was comprised of primarily SS-TV up until that point. Given the Ersatz LAH wasn't formed until August 1939 and being stammrollen number 240 puts the owner in the 2nd or 3rd 'class' (assuming 120 men per company), and assuming a reasonable training period, the owner could have found himself in a field unit sometime in early 1940 which could tie in with the formation of SS Division Nord.
I don't know really, it's all speculation.
Got something nice from a non-germanic SS unit on its way to me now...can't wait!

Haha...you will see...and be happy I think as the item is Netherlands-related!
That looks fantastic Glenn! Mate, that helmet you've got there really presents well, it has just the right combination of wear and tear but still retains enough paint with a great decal to give it that museum quality battle scarred look. Great stuff mate!
