Sorry herrzark, these SS items are not so cheap. I would say these items are often the same price as minty fresh examples found from warehouses because these pieces have real history and real sweat is also spent when digging for them on the old battlefields. Then there is the problem of getting them out of Russia past the customs people.
Good luck in your search for your SS items!
Great stuff Glenn,
and also now I know what the letters SS mean, = Super Stuff
regards mich
amazing items you have there!! i dont know if its just me but i prefer the look of these items to "minters" , stunning collection
Mystery item #2: early type SS enameled ring
Here's a little cutie found on the HKL (main defense line) of 6.Rgt SS-TV in North Karelia. I've read somewhere that these early type rings (sometimes referred to as the '1st type') date from the late twenties so if that's correct, the owner must have been a very early SS member which might explain the path taken into the TotenkopfverbÀnde and from there via the camp system into the combat formation of the 6th Standarte.
Whether this ring is correctly called an 'SS' ring or was merely a barracks canteen purchase I don't know but it certainly saw service with the SS and that makes it a prime piece for an SS collection in my book.
I hope you like it!
As originally found.
It just amazes me what's still coming out of the ground, beautiful collection.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.

But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Cheers guys! I collect this stuff to make you happy you know!
Paul, you wouldn't have any images or documentation regarding those early catalogues would you? I'd love to get some additional 'provenance' on file.
