Some British wartime headgear. The British desert helmet with the 'unidentified emblem' has since been shown to belong to The Arab Legion.

Iraqi items bought home by British servicemen from the Gulf. They include an M80 helmet, gasmask, waterbottle, AKM bayonet and a periscope from a BMP armoured vehicle.
Shown in detail is the gasmask with Shrapnel damage that has struck the underside of the bag and pierced the canister.
Also shown is the detail of the inside of the M80 helmet, still with desert sand inside, and the AKM bayonet taken by a British Marine in 1991.
Finally is my own Gulf War diary, written by myself, aged 12 in 1991, and the letters and Desert Rats patch sent to me by a serving soldier to whom I wrote at the time.
Also an Iraqi marked Romanian made AKM with ammunition pouch.

That's how to photograph a collection! Superb pieces Douglas and very well displayed too. A fabulous thread, thank you for posting.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Douglas,
A few comments regarding your outstanding collection, which until now I had not seen:
Firstly, it is both eclectic and abundant. Congratulations on both counts.
Secondly, the quality of the images is fantastic. Truly one of the finest compendiums of photographs displaying a collection that I have ever seen. The lighting and backgrounds combine to present the items in such a fine manner.
It is also noteworthy to mention your collection of Konzentrationslager related pieces presented in such a manner too, well done.
Good luck with your collecting, I look forward to seeing plenty more.
GrĂ¼sse,
Carl
Thank you gentleman for your kind comments.
Here are some Third Reich Awards and badges.
