Thanks, guys! The box is a WWI Marking Outfit. During WWI, they did not issue standard dog tags (not until WWII) so each unit was issued this kit to stamp dog tags and mess kit accessories. It contains a brass hammer, brass base, numbers/letters and templates for each item.

I just pikced up the Colt about a month ago. The serial number is 2XX,XXX so I estimate the manufacture date as 1917. Definitley one my favorite peices in my collection.
And what can a say about Yuengling other than it's an excellent beer!
