    The guy originaly wearing it might have seen action at Waterloo....
    It is a post Napoleon periode helmet.
    A French cuirassier helmet model 1815.
    "First restoration" periode has the French call it, having a king back on the trone.
    These helmets are quiet rare, in original condition. Most have been tranformed into firefighters helmets and so on.
    Apparently this one have been naild onto a wall, very early after it had done his service....judging by the hole in the neck flap...
