I am glad you like it!
I just get a thrill out of the challenge of doing things like this to see how close I can get, it's a little bit therapeutic for me as well.
Sometimes I find myself sitting and watching tele, when I should be out in the shop creating.
The backing for the cross guard is also leather, I just had a difficult time to find a leather stiff enough to use this thin, I started applying crazy glue to the edges to stop any "hairs" and to keep it smooth. Sort of unfortunately, the leather just soaked it up, so, that's what I went with.
