Nice display Glenn!
I'll say! I finally managed to force my way through the last pages of his book last night. What a horrible little man he was. As far as I can tell he never fired a shot in anger, his first 'action' was as a messenger boy during the Ardennes offensive (sure he got shelled but no actual combat), then in his first frontline offensive action his unit gets ambushed and he hides in the snow for 4 hours and gets frostbitten feet, then after recovery is sent to Hungary where he takes part in a second attack and gets wounded by schrapnel and spends the rest of the war in hospital then a POW camp before release. I lost count of how many times he describes himself as an 'elite combat soldier of the Waffen SS Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler'...gimme a break, the little germ was a nobody yet dares to align himself with the true combat veterans of the Liebstandarte whilst blaming the jews for everything he can think of, denying both the holocaust AND German atrocities (especially Malmedy) and taking snide potshots at the USA (his home by choice for over 50 years) and puffing himself up at every opportunity.
I'd love to have 5 minutes back in 1945 just to smack the little $hit into the ground!
What a waste of money that 'book' was, easily the 2nd worst military title I own, only bested by 'Mein Kampf'.
Yes a repugnant individual Glenn the only veteran i ever regretted contacting.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.

No, as bad as it sounds to say this, fortunately he had been dead a few years before I got his book. My wife bought it as a signed collectable off Amazon thinking I would appreciate it.
