Finding a site.

Article about: Hey all, new to the forums so hello to everyone. Me and my dad are planning a trip to metal detect for WW1 and WW2 relics. I know the laws are strict and vary heavily from area to area. But

    Thank you Francis and Black Cat , you have explained the answers to my question in a manner with which i am familiar , setting out the procedures that need to be followed .

    My own experience is that if potential human bones are recovered then the Gendarmerie would be the first Port of call ( as Black Cat mentions this may be a potential Crime scene and /or MIA ) but that can be done througfh other local authorities such as the Mairie if time or circumstance makes contacting the Old Bill difficult etc .

    One other point to make. In the event of discovering remains that can be readily identified, such as those of an American MIA whose dogtag is among the remains there is additionally the need to contact DPAA for them to initialise a thorough search.
