Formed 26.8.39 in Fürth with 1. - 4. Batterien.

1941/42 converted to schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 9 (trop.).

In 6.42 divided into:

Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 9 in Fürth
Flak-Ausbildungs-Abteilung 9 in Fürth (soon renamed Flak-Abteilung 697)

1944 increased to 8 batteries; 11.44 - 12.44: 6. - 8./Ers.9 (v) was used operationally in Nürnberg under Stab/Flak-Regiment 93.

Service:

8.39 - 9.40 in Fürth under Luftgau-Kommando XIII
9.40 - 8.41 in Fürth under Kommandeur der Flakersatzabteilungen beim Luftgau XII/XIII
8.41 - 5.45 in Fürth under Stab/Flak-Ersatz-Regiment 2
