Hi Simon.
Top left -
2./Batterie Artillerie Kolonne s
(the small s could be schwere = heavy)
Top right -
Kompanie
Ersatz Bataillon 11
This is for replacement battalion 11 and could be for infantry, Artillery etc.
B is the soldiers blood group.
Bottom left -
Infanterie Geschütz Ersatz Kompanie
256 is likely the soldiers roll number.
Bottom right -
Zug
214 could be the unit.
Kind regards,
Will.

Many thanks, Will. I also collect WW1 German tags and fragments and tend to find interpreting the markings far easier. With WW2 EM I am usually reliant on input from forum members.
If you're satisfied that they're genuine, I'll add them to the collection.
Best wishes,
Simon

Hi Simon.
I can help with the abbreviations, but I can't help with authenticity. Hopefully someone will be along soon to help out with that.
Here is a handy list of German military abbreviations for you to use -

All look original, often broken up like this after being taken POW.

Thank you, fellas. It’s much appreciated.
It was a New Year’s Resolution to get more of my collection out on display so I’m planning on framing some of my relic badges, tags and insignia up. The tag fragments help to fill a few spaces between the odd wound badge and iron cross.
Thank you again for your input. I’m so reliant on forums like this. As a school teacher my weekends mean I’m marking when I’d rather be at militaria fairs…
Simon
