I just joined WRF and haven't figured out how to post a new thread yet. That said, I'll piggyback on this thread and ask the following:

I have an Erkennungsmarke with the following inscription: SP. F. BTTW. 228

BTTW. would appear to represent "Batterie." My various references cannot provide the meaning for the abbreviations "SP. F." Any thoughts?

A picture would be useful, I'm guessing it relates to Artillerie Regiment 228, but SP and F are curious.
