Erkennungsmarken Question

Have no idea on this one! Hope someone can help on it. Have looked at the abbreviations and not sure what it is.

Thanks gents. Since it has Ersatz on it this was a replacement assigned to the unit. Is that correct?

Sorry, I should tweek the unit name that Ben posted as of course it should read:
1st Batterie Schwere Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 30.

Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 30 consisted of three Batteries, two light and one heavy (as per your ekm) and provided Flak support for the Infantry Divisions it was assigned to.

Why are so many of these marked Ersatz? Are they replacements sent to that unit or units made up of replacements? Thanks
