    I’ve got a similar example. I subsequently read that having an “A” prefix meant a civilian member rather than enlisted person.

    That's interesting. Any idea of who would have worked as a civilian in a Signal Platoon? Could this have been an advisor early in the War? Thanks BlackCat!

    Possibly, or perhaps the tea boy who got called to the colours when the replacements ran out?
