I am confused by 2 points.
    1) "4" in the number looks smaller than the rest of the digits.
    2) Small letters look like small caps.

There have already been discussions about 51545.
I'll try to find it in the evening.

The MOB-no. L51545 is not listed so far, but it could be Heiligenbeil.
See here: 5. Heimat-Flak 225/VIII - Einheiten der Luftwaffe - Forum der Wehrmacht
This man served first at Fliegerhorst Kommandatur Heiligenbeil and received the same tag as yours.

Yes its a Fliegerhorst Kommandatur ekm, as said no data for 51545. I know 51541 was Fliegerhorst Kommandatur Jesau, which helps not one bit sadly...

But a nice salty one Eike41.

OK so it does look like the airfield was at Heiligenbeil. The German website quotes a soldier starting service there and having the same tag as this one pictured:

"he was first registered at the air base command post in Heiligenbeil"..."he is registered with the Volksbund.
    His EM: Fl.H.Kdtr.L51545-1591."

    Hello my friends.
I looked at old threads. Precisely no one undertakes to assert. There are only guesses for this number.
I will also post a few tags (photos from the Internet).

The number is a MOB-number (Mobile Einheits Nummer), but in todays publications not listed (see Höidal attachment).
As per my first post's link the said MOB-no. most likely is connected to Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Heiligenbeil.
The guy posted it in the link got the infos direcly from WASt on research for his grandfather.
So i'm pretty sure it fits.
