"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
Looks real enough to me- so far I don't think I've seen any fakes made with industrially-made, dedicated text stamps (i.e., full words, not just individual letters), so they're usually safe. I think one of these was posted some time in the last couple of months...
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
Better search the forum first
water found tag , Sicherheitspolizei Einsatzkommando
this was found in a lake many years ago.
I am adding other 2 samples also lake found but in worst conditions.
Your tag looks ok to me, it has the same font as these ones but it has the serial number put on a different line
Regards
Matt
Thanks Matt and Matt

Is it from Latvia? I know that some similar tags were found this summer.
Hello.
This disc what you are discussing, it's mine, original.
Theese ID discs was found in Latvia, ID discs are original, found by myself. ID discs are in very good condition (washed only with water, no chemicals used).
Here are some photos from finding place:
If you are interested or want some extra photos, PM me.
Are these tags believed to have belonged to german einsatzgruppen members or local latvian auxiliary police such as the Arajs Kommando?
Also do you know the reason why so many was found at the same spot?
I've read a story (don't remember where but could be here on the forum) that local latvian auxiliaries collectively got rid of their old tags in a ceremony of some kind when they where transfered to the 15th waffen grenadier division of the SS. Don't know if the story has anything to do with these tags though.
Cheers!
Mads
