SS Reiter Rgt Erkennungsmarken

I acquired this S.S. Erkennungsmarken as a gift from a WW2 veteran some time ago - can anyone tell me a little bit more about it?

It's the first time that I see this kind of WSS tag. I think that it is a good one but for sure more detailed pics will be appreciate. The chain in my opinion was added later.

I have seen SS-Kavallerie-Regiment 1 but never Reiter Regiment. Did this unit exist?

It’s a good tag. SS Totenkopf Reiter Rgt. became SS Reiter Rgt. then SS Kavallerie Rgt. between 1940 and 1941.
