Just a stab at it: 1st Schützen Ausbildungs (?) Kompanie Grenadier Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 320

To me it's kind of a strange one. I'm not a dedicated EKM collector so I don't want to make a firm call on the originality of the EKM.

Yes, I think that is very likely.
And it would have been issued after July of 1944 due to this sentence: "Am 20. Juli 1944 wurde das Ersatz-Bataillon zum Grenadier-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 320 erweitert."

Zinc has corrosion. The impression is that corrosion does not touch the letters.
That is, the text is stuffed on top of a layer of corrosion.

Yes I think your trying to tell me it is an old blank that was stamped after the war, you think the corrosion is under the stamping right?

This unit designation is correct.

Photos are not ideal, but I like it.
