Help with Luftwaffe FL number

Got it now! The part is unmarked, only a single letter R on it /seen in one of the pictures/. If this would help, it is 7 x 7 cm roughly. Here are more pictures

I have asked around, and the general consensus is that it is an engine part. At a guess, it is a piece of cam shaft cover. The curved piece looks like it once held a shell bearing. There are what appear to be the remains of studs, too.
