    Hi Steve,

'Battle Cry' was a Warner Brothers war movie made in 1955. I bet this aircraft was paid for by WB as a little bit of free publicity/advertising and goodwill. I think due to the films date, the pic would the be related to the Korean War and the guys who are 'pretending' to load a desultory amount of ammo and ordnance are taking part in a publicity pic for the studio.

Here's a linky thing to the movie.

It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Thanks Ned, you might be correct - there is a single belt of .50
cal lying on the ground. ( It wasn't like there weren't many
F4U's around - the Corsair had 'the longest production
run of any piston-engined fighter in US history', with
12,571 produced, and an 11:1 kill ratio ).

These two pics are printed on one piece of paper, and I figure
they are actual soldiers or Marines instead of actors, as
the second pic looks like a barracks in back.
    ( Note M38 jeep ).........
    Regards,

    Steve.
