This may seem like a odd question, I was looking at this defence of the caucasus with document and was wondering about the printed text.

I'm guessing it's just less common?

Normally it's handwritten, I have looked through other threads and seen a few like this but was just asking if it was all OK.

    Many thanks,

It's quite common, especially with naval Caucasus medal documents.
Very nice doc btw, for a sailor on the cruiser Voroshilov:

Here's a Caucasus and Stalingrad medal document from my collection, both printed.

Thank you, I thought it was normal, just hadn't seen them to often.

I think 'typed', or 'type-written', is more accurate than 'printed'. Not being pedantic, just trying to be more precise.

I received the document and roughly translated it.

It was awarded to Bury Anatoly Antonovich (Бурый Анатолий Антонович).

The stamp and some of the text is slightly faded but the rest I think translated to:
Командир крейсера ''ВОРОШИЛОВ '' ЧФ Капитан 1-го ранга
    (Е. ЖУКОВ)
Commander of the cruiser ''VOROSHILOV'' Black Sea Fleet Captain 1st rank
    (E. ZHUKOV)

Atleast according to ru.Wikipedia the captain 1st rank was a E. N. Zhukov. I'm guessing it's the same person maybe?

Just one actually, but there are two copies of the same Nakhimov citation in the database. Might be worth taking a look at. It was awarded only a few months before he received the Caucasus medal. According to the citation he was injured when the Voroshilov hit a mine, but he nevertheless immediately set about repairing the damage to the machinery caused by the mine hit.
