This Christmas I have acquired this type 3 order book issued as I believe shortly after the end of the Second World War. It has been a strange purchase for me, since I have never worried about having any document, medal or especially important object. In this case it is an object that is not anonymous, but refers to a real person.

Unfortunately, I do not have any of the medals and orders to which the document refers, but I liked the general idea it conveys of great adventures and a great journey through all kinds of places. I don't know if it has an economic value by itself or not (it cost me 70 dollars), and I do not care. It is a document that I view with great respect and that I wanted to share with you.

I donĀ“t speak russian, but I have tried to locate some information about the real man behind this document.

He seems a young man, but a strong, disciplined and determined man.

If I am not wrong, I think he is Nikolay Stepanovich Obukhov, born in 1923 in Aban, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

From what I gather through the Podvignaroda, Nikolai was recruited in 1941, I suppose due to the general mobilization after the German invasion. He would be only about 18 years old. He appears to have served in various regiments of the Red Army, even after Hitler's death. For example, he seems to have excelled on the second Ukrainian front.

Although I do not have the knowledge to value his awards and achievements as a soldier, in addition to having survived, he seems to have become a captain in the army.

I hope he had a long and happy life.

Outstanding exposition! These documents many times tell us quite a story. Your obvious respect, appreciation & research of this man are indeed commendable, orders and medal notwithstanding.

Thank you both very much for your comments.

It seemed to me something nice to rescue the story of this "director of men." I think he won almost every award he could win in the war, as evidenced by the fact that he received the Order of Aleksander Nevski, as well as surviving the war.
