Order of Lenin 1948 Issue

Hello, I compared this piece to a good one and it looked ok but I'm concerned about the damage on the back where its scratched and looks almost like gold plating scratched off. I don't want to make a mistake in purchasing a bad Lenin. Any help is appreciated

Never had an Order of Lenin or seen one in the wild. Not sure what you're paying for it. But if it were me I'd have it checked out by a reputable dealer/collector. Could be worth the extra $$$$'s to 1) Satisfy your concern 2) Provide it some authenticity if and when you decide to move it down the line.

Will be interesting to read others input who have more expertise than I do.
