A 7.92 Mauser tropical ball round

Now what separates this from a standard ball round? Not much to be honest even the headstamps are the same!

What does separate tropical ammunition from the others is the addition of a coloured lacquered sealant around the projectile where it meets the case. Tropical ammo was designed in this way to combat temperature and humidity variations in tropical climates

On my example the green sealant band is a bit worn but you can still clearly see where the green band is present on both projectile and casing. Of course green annulus around the primer denotes ball ammo much like the sealant band
