This is another acquisition from a few months back, a 1945-dated 8.8cm Sprenggranate projectile, recently dug up on the former Eastern Front. It was advertised as being recovered from a dump of shells meant for use in the Tiger I tank, but the fuze type reveals it is in fact a Flak projectile. It's in very nice shape considering it's spent the last 80 years in the ground, with just a bit of minor pitting here and there. The fuze unscrews from the main body, and the markings on the shell itself are nice and clear. There are even some remnants of the bright yellow paint used to denote it as a high-explosive or 'Sprenggranate' projectile.
I just need a case for it now!
