Can someone identify and tell me more about this shell

A simple brass casing really. As said by Zwerge a 20X138B round. Impossible to determine what projectile accompanied this casing. Only part we can really analyse is the base markings.

“P”is the manufacturer code (Fertigungsfirma) . It was the stamp used by the Polte Armaturen- u. Maschinenfabrik AG, Magdeburg / “polte werke”

“38”of course is the year of manufacturing 1938 (Fertigungsjahr)

“2”is the delivery batch number (Lieferungs-Nr. U. Raten-buchstabe)

“waA406” is the waffenamt stamp or the acceptance stamp (Abnahmestempel)
This stamp belongs to polte Magdeburg (so they manufactured the shell and approved it for use)




These are a pretty cool line of shells to collect. Please post more if you have since i really like looking at them , as composite has already said

WoW jb thats a Nice collection, thnx very much for telling me all i wanted to know, now i finally understand the Numbers, if i find more i Will post them, though im not sure if they are 20 Shells.
