    Hello,

Could anyone please help me identify this German cartridge shell and the weapon it was used in.

I was wondering if it could be aircraft related. If so I wonder what type of aircraft and if the cartridges were ejected on the outside of the aircraft if fired from of a German bomber (possibly a Junkers JU 88) in 1941.

The information would be very helpful for my Conflict Archaeology PhD.

    I think it’s a 20X80mm MGFF cannon casing

Of course made in 1939 by P490 which is the code for “HASAG” Hugo Schneider AG
    Batch 17

I do see the faint waffenamt stamp as well

Thank you so much for your kind help. The cannon casing has now found it´s place in history and will be published in my PhD "Durchgangslager Hanko 1942-1944 - The Modern Conflict Archaeology and History of a German Second World War Transition Camp in Hanko S. Finland" in 2022.

More intriguing items to follow but I think I will start a new thread for those
