    Yes. It's definately scrap.
    A few suspisciously similar ones turned up on the Golan heights along with parts of things made in other places delivered to other places so even if you know where it came from it's presence could have a completely different meaning

    Is could be US WW2 60MM M83 mortar ?

    exact dimensions are required. The tape measure at an angle in the original picture is worse than useless, so the exact diameter and a straight on with scale picture would be needed.

    Looking at the M83 it has a pronounced Bourrelet to achieve forwards obturation and that is missing on yours. I strongly suspect that yours relied upon an obturating band located on the forwards section, (missing) to achieve this so again it would indicate to me it is a a derivative of the modern M769 either American made of local manufacture.
