I bought this 75mm shell casing at a second-hand store some time ago, and i couldn’t find where it was from. I think it’s french, but i could be wrong. It’s approximately 51 cm long, and the base is 8,5 cm. It’s marked with 75 F.B and then ARS . 17L. 38S. Next to it is a shell casing from a mle.1897 field gun for comparison. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As you say, it is French. For the 75mm Anti Aircraft gun. The FB stands for Frein Bouche, meaning Brake Mouth or Muzzle Brake.
Also quite frequently found with German markings as they were extensively used during WW2 by the Reich
