Tricky bayonet to appraise as they were reproduced in India for many years for the Imperial Indian Army. The originals are dating for around 1805, finding a leather scabbard of that age is very very rare. Also an authentic British scabbard would be stitched on the back up the middle, not the side, so the scabbard is not authentic early 1800's. The bayonet itself, a private purchase variation, such as a Volunteer unit may buy I also doubt it is an early model. I would also lean toward Indian made.
I tend to agree with Anderson, very tricky this one.
I'm also sure that it's scabbard is a reproduction.
As I can see it has mark "SLATER & CO" on ricasso.
Does it seen like original marking?
